What is Accreditation Status Verification check, and how is it different from Education Verification check?
Accreditation Status Verification check confirms that the awarding institution is officially recognised by a legitimate government or authorised accrediting body. MOM typically uses this to determine whether the institution is eligible under their recognised list.
Education Verification check confirms that the qualification itself is genuine and was issued by the institution stated.
When is Accreditation Status Verification check required?
If the institution is not listed in MOM’s Self-Assessment Tool (SAT), both Education Verification and Accreditation Status Verification checks are required.
What is the process of verification?
RMI will undertake the following:
- Education Verification – Education or professional certification will be verified through the Institution’s Registrar and/or Administrator;
- Accreditation Status of Educational Institutions – verify that the institution, distant learning institute or nodal centre is an approved provider of the program.
How long does the Education Verification Check takes?
Most Education Verification Checks take 7–15 business days after payment and submission of complete documents.
Cases involving institutions in India or China may take longer. Delays can occur during public holidays, term breaks, or when extra documents are requested.

There is no expiry date for all RMI reports.
However, its acceptance depends on MOM’s latest guidelines. Kindly check MOM requirements before submitting for any work pass application.
What is a Letter of Authorisation (LOA) and why is it required for Education checks?
The LOA authorises RMI to obtain your student records from your institution for Education verification purposes.
Most institutions accept electronic signatures, but some may require a wet-ink signature or their own consent form before releasing information.
What is the purpose of the Letter of Authorisation?
The Letter of Authorisation is a mandatory document that grants permission for RMI to conduct the verification process and authorises relevant institutions to disclose your student information to RMI. You will be required to sign an electronic Letter of Authorisation (LOA).
Note: Our Letter of Authorisation is electronically signed but there are still a number of educational institutions that will require a wet signature. If this is the case for your educational institution, our MOM Screening Team will email you our Letter of Authorisation which you will be required to print, sign and return via email.
